Directora y fotógrafa. Laura estudió el Máster en Documental de Creación en la Universidad Pompeu Fabra en Barcelona. Su carrera profesional está íntimamente ligada a México, donde llegó en 2010 para realizar diferentes documentales. Ahora reside en Barcelona y realiza su trabajo entre España y México.

Sus documentales se han presentado en los festivales y muestras más importantes del mundo. Su último documental “LA MAMI”, aclamado por la crítica, fue elegido Critic´s Picks del NYTimes en su estreno comercial en USA. “LA MAMI” se ha estrenado en Feature-length Competition de IDFA (NL), forma parte del MoMA Doc Fortnight (US), SXSW (US), Zurich (CH) y San Sebastián (SP) entre mucho otros y ha sido premiado en festivales como Málaga, Morelia, FICUNAM, Tempo Film Festival (SE) o L´Alternativa y ganadora del premio a Mejor Película en los Cinema Tropical Awards o del premio FIPRESCI de la crítica cinematográfica. Su Opera Prima “EL REMOLINO” se estrenó en el Festival de Cine de Locarno (CH), fue seleccionada en más de 70 festivales y premiada en más de una decena como DocumentaMadrid (SP). Su corto documental “¿ME VAS A GRITAR?” formó parte de la selección Internacional de Clermont Ferrand (FR), el Festival de Málaga (SP) y Palm Spring Film Fest (US) entre muchos otros.

Ha formado parte del colectivo de cineastas EmergenciaMX y es socia fundadora de La Sandía Digital, Laboratorio de Cultura Audiovisual. Ha realizado más de una veintena de cortos documentales en diferentes países, una gran variedad de campañas de incidencia en Derechos Humanos con perspectiva de género. Laura también ha impartido talleres de documental en diferentes festivales e instituciones como en Dartmouth College (US), Documentary Summer School de Locarno (CH), Ambulante (MX) y MICGénero (MX). En este momento forma parte del equipo de realización del programa de TV “Lo de Évole” y ha trabajado como guionista y jefa de realización en “Amén, Francisco responde” para Disney+. En este momento está escribiendo el guión de su primer largometraje de ficción.

Documentary film director and photographer. She studied the Master in Creative Documentary at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona. Her career is closely linked to Mexico, where she arrived in 2010 to work on different documentaries. Now she lives in Barcelona and carries out her work between Spain and Mexico.

Her documentaries have been selected in the best cinema festivals around the world. Her latest documentary “La Mami” was premiered at IDFA Feature-length Competition and is part of the Official Selection at MoMA Doc Fortnight, SXSW, San Sebastian Film Festival, Zurich and Guadalajara among others and has been awarded at festivals such Malaga, Morelia, FICUNAM, Tempo, D´A Film Fest or L'Alternativa and winner of the Best Film at the Cinema Tropical Awards or the FIPRESCI award from film critics. Her feature-length debut, “EL REMOLINO” premiered at the Locarno Film Festival, was selected in more than seventy festivals and awarded for Best Documentary in several festivals such as DocumentaMadrid. And her short “¿ME VAS A GRITAR?” was part of International Selection in Clermont Ferrand, Málaga y Palm Spring among others.

In México, Laura was part of the film collective EmergenciaMx and she is also a co-founder of La Sandía Digital, Audiovisual Culture Lab. She has directed more than twenty short docs in different countries during the last 10 years, and she has carried out a wide variety of Human Rights campaigns, all of them with a gender perspective. Laura teaches documentary workshops at different Festivals and Institutions such as Locarno Documentary Summer School, Ambulante or MICGender.

At this time she is part of the production team of the Prime Time TV show "Lo de Évole" and has participated as director in different documentary series projects such as "La pell dels Murs" produced by TV3.
